Tree Ornaments with the Sprites . . .

December 10, 2012 | 2 Comments

These ornaments are so easy to make and perfect for gifts from the little ones to their friends. I used to break out in hives when someone would mention crafts, but lately I have learned it isn’t as daunting as I first thought. Last week my  friend from childhood Wendy Plumb came over with her daughter Vienna. We had a crafting afternoon topped by a cup of tea.  I bought most of the supplies at our neighborhood Michaels, but in the past we have gone hunting for tiny pine cones and leaves on our winter walk.

List of Supplies

Glue gun and glue stick
Empty wicker nests
Moss
Dried Leaves or Sprigs of Christmas decor cut off the branches
Mini Pine Cones
Mini eggs
Little birds
Dried flowers
White or gold paint for the cones
Twine

Simply have the children design their nests. Moss goes on the bottom and then they can fill it up with pine cones. We painted ours white and gold. After the moss add the cones, leaves, birds and flowers. Once it’s arranged you can take the glue gun and glue the pieces in place. Then tie some twine through the tip of the nest to hang on the tree.

All the photos by my older daughter Colette. ♥
