HedgeHouse Linen Throw Mattresses = I am Obsessed!!

September 15, 2012 | 0 Comments

Okay . . . these  throw mattresses make me yearn for a country house in France where dozens of sleepy headed children giggle and frolic on the Belgium ticking. Beata Henrich has created that very item which you think to yourself ‘but of course how genius!’ These mattresses are perfect for house guests or just to throw around and have cosy time reading or watching an old musical. They are ideal for urban country living however the dilemma is choosing which color since they all look so great together!

1) What inspired you to start your line?
So many things. But mostly it was a real desire to be able to work with textiles.
2) I love your choice in fabrics. Is it difficult to be a local designer?
Thank You! I really appreciate that. I work hard at finding the best Linens, Cottons and Cashmeres I can.  Heres what I will say about being a local designer. I am so lucky to be here in this town doing what I am doing. Meeting and getting to know and be apart of the community here. From the PDC right on down to the guys I buy packing tape from in Commerce.  Los Angeles is such an entrepreneurial town. No other city like it in the USA.  It’s amazing. I have lived in New York and London, both cities I know very well,  and I would never have been able to accomplish what I have here, in either of those places. There is such a wealth of resources in LA for a young designer to exploit,  to develop and play and thats so important to be able to do as a designer. There is space here, a community,  a manufacturing infrastructure, people’s minimums are low, vendors will work with you here and there is so much choice.
I absolutely loved discovering that about LA.
3) Are you a mermaid or forest fairy?
I don’t know. I like the woods so the latter I guess.
4) What beauty product can you not live without?
Sisley Intensive Day cream.  I am 42 and I need it.
5) What book is on your nightstand?
Country Of The Pointed Firs By Sarah Orne Jewett
