Jennifer Nicholson’s Bohemian L.A. Boutique Pearl Drop
Jennifer Nicholson has always been a vanguard. I was a huge fan of her elegant boutique Pearl years ago, and now the original beauty has created Pearl Drop in Venice. Jennifer has been collecting crystals, Western treasures and vintage clothes way before it became so fashionable. She has always had her pulse on what is interesting and is constantly being creative whether it’s designing a new line, raising her two sons, practicing Kundalini Yoga or decorating a trailer for road trips. Actually a fantasy of mine, is to go on the road with Jennifer in her trailer named Bambi, go vintage scouting through small towns while listening to Johnny Cash or Kundalini Mantras. Her bohemian boutique (photo below) fit for goddesses is filled with treasures that mirror her earthy yet spiritual taste. We visited her equally beautiful home and discovered crystals, works of art, a bird nest bed, and a dream tub in pewter.
1) What lights your fire and inspires you?
Beauty inspires me. I am a visualist and a colorist. So the beauty can come in many forms and arrives at my eyes and my heart in different ways. I would say it is more likely for me to be inspired while traveling . This could be to a distant land, or on a road trip, or even a secret spot right around the corner. I just love seeing new color and texture In nature or hunan expression .It truly is a blessing. Nothing is more inspiring to me than authentic beauty, both inner and outer, natural or man made. Basically I guess I am inspired by everything!

Hi Shiva Rose,
Thank you for sharing these wonderful stories. I love your friends and circle, and often wish that they were my friends too. Then I realize, they are like my friends. My friend Andra that makes me laugh until we are doubled over, her home filled with vintage and eclectic wonderfulness and there is always a cup of tea or a kitty to comfort you. Then there is Michelle, who is always there with a meal and an understanding hug and super strong shoulders. There is Andrea, who lives in a magic cabin in the woods by the sea, everything she touches is magic. May we be all blessed by the people in our lives – thank you Shiva for sharing yours. In light, Diana from San Francisco

Though I have never personally met Jennifer, she has been a facebook friend for a long time and I have always admired her spirit and style. This is lovely interview, and it didn’t surprise me a bit that she has a ‘bambi,’- as i’ve wanted one myself for a long time and always talk about my dream road trip on my radio shows. kindred spirits.
words got messed up. That should have been “kindred spirits” at the end.
