Vered Organics = Roses Unite!

September 14, 2012 | 0 Comments
It is fitting that Vered means rose in Hebrew! Vered has been an esthetician and herbalist for over two decades and her product line is truly pure and incredible. I have many skin care lines sending me samples these days, but after using Vered’s products for a few weeks I can honestly say my skin felt nourished and happy! She uses pure botanicals which you can tell by smelling the oils. It seems our bodies absorb oils better than creams since oils have a chemical structure that is closer to our cells.  to My favorite’s from her line include The Anti Aging Treatment Oil, Toner and Signature Body Oil which is made up of rose, jasmine and amber. From one rose to another . . .
1) What got you on the path to using natural botanical oils for skin care ? I was always intrigued by the therapeutic benefits of herbs and essential oils. As I worked with them, in 22 years I have never had a client who had a bad response or allergy to the herbs or oils.  If anything, the opposite was true, I started to see an immediate result and balancing of the skin. Of course quality counts. I use only organic and therapeutic grade oils. I would say besides the skin benefits, the aromatherapy aspect also strikes me, and how people are so affected by scent. To be able to erase depression just by using a certain scent on someone was very satisfying to me.

2)  What is your favorite product in your line?  I have to say that it is the Anti-Aging Treatment Face Oil because it was the first product that I developed. It is based on a formula that I used for years in my practice for my facial treatments. However, over time I kept on perfecting it. Although I must say that I am beyond obsessed with the Therapeutic Balancing Face Oil and my Herb-Infused Toner. There is not a day that I would be able to fall asleep without cleansing my face with the toner. There are also are days that I am really craving the smell of the Therapeutic Balancing Face Oil. I find myself layering these two oils together on a regular basis, and they do work perfectly together.

3) I love how potent your oils smell, is that difficult to achieve?  To me it is not difficult because it is what I am suppose to do in life, so it became a natural process with the years. I also continue my research, study of herbs and aromatherapy – the learning never really ends. As I study I get intuitive hits or messages if you will of what is the right combination for a certain formula. Of course it does need to make sense. I feel very connected to plants and essential oils that words do not do it justice.

4) Are you a mermaid or a forest fairy? The truth is I am probably a combination of both. To quote The Depths of the Sea by Edward Burnes-Jones 1887, which I can deeply relate to: The song of the Sirens call man to abandon themselves, to hurl into the deep, to sprout wings, to transform, to die to self and emerge into a new form with new understanding. Forest Fairy, in that I already feel I live in the forest in a sense. I surround myself with flowers, herbs and oils, elements of nature that are incorporated in my work. Working with nature has become a natural way for me to communicate. I see the mystical and magical qualities that nature provides. My daily routine consists of watering my garden, feeding the birds and squirrels, and ending the day with a walk in Central Park. Might not be a literal forest but it’s my urban utopia.

5) What book is on your nightstand? I am reading a fascinating book by Dr. Joseph Michael Levry. It is called The Divine Doctor, Healing beyond Medicine. I highly recommend it. http://www.rootlight.com/books_divine_doctor.htm  Dr. Levry is the founder of  Naam yoga and Harmonyum Healing. He recently re-located to Santa Monica to open Naam Yoga center. How lucky for you! J
