Natural Rose
We all now know how toxic regular antiperspirants are and so the dilemma becomes finding a strong enough natural deodorant that also smells good. In case you didn’t get the memo that traditional antiperspirants are dangerous then read on:
Propylene glycol is as a humectant, which means it keeps substances from drying out, and it was originally developed as an anti-freeze. Today it’s used in paint, dog food, floor wax, and you guessed it, many deodorants. Propylene glycol is neurotoxin known to cause contact dermatitis, kidney damage, and liver damage. In the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for propylene glycol, the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety warns workers to avoid skin contact with the toxic chemical, and yet millions of people apply it under their arms everyday.”
Since some of us shave our underarms we are even more vulnerable to having those chemicals go straight to our blood streams through the open pores.
Crystals are another form that don’t mask odor but put a Natural mineral barrier to prevent odor.
Here are some tried and tested deodorants that are clean, natural and lovely. You can purchase these at most health food stores.
