Handcrafted Jewelry with Jessica Seaton

June 13, 2013 | 1 Comment

Jessica Seaton, Handmade jewelry

Jessica Seaton looks like a movie star, lives like Thoreau, and creates jewelry and art like Camille Claudel. We visited Jessica in her studio/cabin in the mountains of Topanga to see her at work. She has created a serene environment to create her original designs. Her rings, pendants  and bracelets are of the other realm, snakes, hands, sun beams, fossils and molars. Yes I meant molars as in teeth. I have always thought that my children’s milk teeth would make interesting adornment pieces, it seems Jessica Seaton does as well. She is also a self taught sculptress and connects deeply to mama earth around her which you can see in her work.

The earth.. Love.. Loss.. Possibilities..

It is! I hand carve each piece out of wax.. there are different ways to do this, but it is the old world way of making jewelry..before lasers and computers took over.

3) What is your favorite beauty product?
Coconut oil for its versatility.

4) What’s your favorite thing about living so close to wilderness?
The silence during the day and the frogs that put me to sleep.

5) What book is on your nightstand?
A Return to Love is my shameless self help book of the moment..

6) Are you a mermaid or forest fairy?
 A forest fairy for sure.

7) Where can we find your line?
You can find it at the beautiful new boutique, Pearl Drop, on Lincoln!!

8) Where is your dream vacation?
On the beach..in the sun..far, far away from home with the person I love.
