I had the opportunity to meet the beautiful brains behind the Pursoma Brand. Shannon Vaughn created the line of detox products that help you create beauty from the inside out, and in her case it seems to be working since she is completely luminous and glowing. Her bath detoxes and masks, help aid the body in ridding of heavy metals, stress factors and environmental radiation. I for one am so happy to see someone addressing the harmful effects of radiation being emitted from our cell phones, networks, etc. and how we can detox from it. At the age of 32 Shannon physically collapsed from an ovarian cyst. After being told by traditional doctors that she could only cure it by surgery or birth control she decided to take matters in her own hands. (read below for more of Shannon’s inspring journey)

After modeling for years, Shannon began to study medicine and philosophy. After a brief stint at Georgetown University Medical School, Shannon decided to go back to what had gotten her on her path to healing. She began to research how to get the most pure elements for her detox product line, and her detox beauty brand was born. She hired a French Bio-Chemist to help her with the logistics and determine where to get the purest ingredients. Shannon sources the clay in the detox baths from The Loire Valley in France because it is the cleanest. She gets her salt from Brittany because the elements are rich and dense.

The day we met I was on a three day Moon Juice Cleanse and Shannon prescribed the Resurrection Bath for me. After reading this on the bath I became a complete convert. Also I have to say I felt incredibly joyous after the process and energy was reclaimed!

“This bath is no joke. Go primal. Made from pure, raw and vegan ingredients this revitalizing and deeply stimulating bath helps to unburden the body from toxins such as environmental irritants, overindulgence and technological pollution. Sea salt aids in stimulating circulation and blood flow, which can open the body’s cells to deep cleansing. Single origin Montmorillonite clay’s negative charge helps to attract unhealthy, positively charged radiation that accumulates in the body and assists in absorbing toxic build-up. Soothing Spirulina and Laminaria help nourish the skin to restore hydration and vitality. Reclaim your energy!”

1) What inspires you?

Natural and honest beauty ; the outdoors and majestic mountains and landscapes that leave me with a sense of wonder

2) Do you have a favorite beauty regime?

I love to do a weekly infrared sauna that I am lucky to have at home. Prior to getting in I do a dry brush for 10 minutes, which stimulates the lymphatic system, followed by a deeply detoxifying salt, or sugar scrub that I mix up at home with pursoma salts and floracoepia oil. After 10 min of scrubbing, I brush off the scrub with a natural loofah, leave the oil on the body and sit in the sauna for 45 minutes with at least 2 liters of water. The skin and body feels totally rejuvenated and my mind becomes clear and balanced.

3) If you could have superpower what would it be?

ahh, isn’t everyones wish to get back or get more time
so …to Regulate time

4) What is your favorite snack?

Totally seasonal
-spring and summer , Garden of Eatin sweet potato chips with guacamole
-fall, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, i love the ones from the SUNFOOD brand
-winter, any creamy soup made with coconut milk, i love the vegan soups @ butchers daughter in nolita

5) Do you have a motto or creed you live by?

Yes actually it’s the same one that I used when I was 13 and had to come up with a quote for my 8th grade yearbook,
“The unexamined life is not worth living”-Socrates
It’s funny because I didn’t really know who he was at the time and I ended up majoring in philosophy when I went back to school at age 30. I still stand by that motto, those who do not examine their lives fail to live a life that allows them to experience being fully human.

6) What is on your nightstand?

Jatamansi oil to rub on the soles of my feet for dream enhancing effects, a pearl mala for AM meditation that I do at the foot of my bed…And products.
A light hand cream that usually smells like rose or coconut, currently I love this brand called Nubian, you can buy at whole foods.
Lip balm, I love the one from Dr. Haushka
Alarm clock with bird sounds, because I never sleep with my phone next to my bed…. no need for extra RF while I sleep.
