Perfume of Capri = Carthusia
What’s better than a perfume made from local flowers that come with a legend. It is said that in 1380 the father prior of the Carthusian Monastery made the most beautiful flower arrangement for Queen Giiovanna D’Angio from the island of Capri. The water was not changed for three days, and after the flowers were tossed, the prior noticed the water acquired a lovely fragrance. That water became the first perfume of Capri.
What makes this perfume so special is the packaging and the charm of the stores. I happened to visit the one in Positano and fell in love with the presentation. Although I prefer all natural oil perfumes I couldn’t resist getting a few of these as gifts.
