Easter Eggs

April 18, 2011 | 0 Comments

Interesting how many cultures include eggs in their welcoming Spring traditions. There are the painted Easter eggs, eggs used in the Passover Seder plate, and then for the Persian New year stemming back from Zorastrian times, eggs are also decorated and displayed. The egg representing rebirth and renewal.

The last several years my older daughter has been blowing eggs so the shells are hollow. This prevents the stinky old egg odor that used to creep in after a few days.
This eggs can then be stored and saved for years.

Here is the simple way in which she does it:

1) Wash and dry eggs.

2) Use a sewing needle to poke a hole in one end of the egg. Make a slightly larger hole on other end.

3) Hold a bowl under end with larger hole. Put the end with small hole to your lips and blow.

4) Gently clean area after and let dry.

Then the eggs can be painted, dipped and decorated!
