done in her original style which is a great and affordable way to actually own some of her visionary work. Tierney has been a friend of mine for years, and she inspires me in so many ways. She truly creates art in her everyday life, and I can honestly say that spending time with her and her brood, makes me see the world in another way. She has an honesty and purity in her being that shows through her work. 1) I can tell you are inspired by ordinary life. How did you get this creative kind of vision? Is
it from your childhood? DNA? Just plain genius?
i just live in the moment . it is also a form of protection and survival . being creative for me is a way i process my life issues . it is the way i deal with feelings/ i blur life with art
2) Where do you feel most at home?
i am home . where ever i go that is what i am about feeling at home . so where ever i go i create a home feeling
3) What makes one an artist?
everyone is an artist they just have different ways of expressing themselves.
4) Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
surrounded by tons of kids, life, friends, family .
5) I hear that LA is becoming a cultural and art mecca do you see this happening more so?
la is an unusual place . most people don’t know what to make of t. la is so big and spread out it will never be what nyc/ london type sites . because there is no community . nyc, london one can walk out into the street and be right in the middle of it . la is more special one has to make an effort . but the creativity one finds here is endless. that is why i moved to los angeles to i could be more in touch with my creativity. i dont get caught up in the social world here like one does in nyc / london … i live on my own planet dipping in and out all over california and it is amazing …..
6) Are you a mermaid or a forest fairy?
i am a butterfly !
7) Do you have a beauty secret?
happiness is the key to beauty . if one is happy there is nothing more beautiful.
8) What was the last ‘Tierney’ adventure you had?
my life is an adventure and it never stops……
9) What inspired you to create a children’s book?
i wanted to do a project with my kids and a friend was going through a divorce . i always feel when one is creative it take you to a better place. so we had one meeting about it and off i went and she found something better she loved to do as well.
