Homeopathic Medical Emergency Kit

September 26, 2013 | 9 Comments

Homeopath remedies, homeopathic

I recently teamed up with Rip and Tan about my favorite homeopathic remedies for traveling with children, or just ones to have in a medicine cabinet.

I have been using homeopathy since my first daughter was born seventeen years ago. Homeopathy is safe, has no
side effects or allergic reactions, is inexpensive and effective. I find it woks to treat so many issues ranging from colic for new borns to hyper activity with older children. Creating homeopathic and alternative remedy kits to have handy at home or for traveling, can be so useful. You can follow the directions on the remedies but usually a few pellets are taken under the tongue three times a day.
For traveling I love to keep a few essentials ready to be packed for children’s needs.
Traveling Homeopathic Medical Emergency Kit:

For cough or croup: Kali Mur. 6x
For fever: Ferrum Phos.

For sudden rashes or to treat poison oak: Pulsatilla

For ear aches or ear infections Garlic Mullein Oil.
Mullein/Garlic  isn’t homeopathic but an herbal remedy that has been used by NativeAmericans for hundreds of years. This is a good treatment until one gets home to go see a doctor.

A great gift to give to a new mama to be is a New Born Kit.
(For the tablets, they can be crushed up
and mixed with a tiny bit of water then given to the little one orally as a paste.)

For stomach gas, pain, abdominal bloating: Lycopodium Clavatum

For teething: Chamomilla

For earache: Cahmomilla and Belladona
For eczema: Calendula Cream
(cortisone free and very soothing)

A syringe bulb is always good for emergencies in case a baby gets a bad cold where they get so stuffy they can’t breathe.

I just discovered your blog through EYe swoon and look forward to being inspired 🙂
FYI, i believe you have a typo : Homeopathy is safe, has
side effects or allergic reactions, inexpensive and effective. (i believe there should be a “no” after the word “has”)

I absolutely agree Shiva! Kali Mur is also excellent for reducing swollen ankles during pregnancy. We also take Ferrum Phos at the very first sign of a cold, so Kali Mur if you have the cold, and Ferrum Phos if there is sickness in the house and you don’t want to get it or are just starting to feel like you might be going down!

I even like to use a but of garlic mullein ear drops WITH A SATURATED STERILE COTTON BALL IN MY EAR FOR LONG ROAD TRIPS WHEN I KNOW I WILL HAVE MY CAR WINDOW OPEN. THAT MAY SOUND EXCESSIVE, BUT I AM PRONE TO EAR INFECTIONS AND HAVE USED THIS AS A PREVENTION! ALSO, A VERY COMMON REMEDY NUX VOMICA SEEMS TO BE HELPFUL TO EVERYONE I EVER SHARED IT WITH TO RELAX THE BODY OF INDIGESTION, NERVES, MENSTRUAL CRAMPS, SLEEPLESSNESS, HANGOVER, AND NOW IS THOUGHT TO BE USEFUL IN TREATING AND PREVENTING COLDS!

um I don’t why my message appears in caps??? And it should read cotton ball in my ear………the ends of the sentences are cut off…..oops!

Thank you for your comment Holly. Sorry about the technical difficulty. I have to look into that! heard it before.

So thankful for homeopathy! Recently , a friend recommended taking nux vomica before and after drinking wine…I was getting terrible hangovers after only one or two glasses at the most. Not sure if the nux counteracts the sulfites in the wine, or the alcohol itself, but it is miraculous stuff! Life is too short to pass up an occasional glass of beautiful vino…

This is great, my best friend just had her first baby I think she’d love this. When pregnant she started wanting to be more natural and asking me all kinds of questions, I’ll have to let her know these resources are out there.
