All-Natural Bug Repellent Diatomaceous Earth
I have a confession to make. Over the summer we had . . . fleas! Yuck! The dreaded little parasites biting my daughter’s legs and making Fig our cat, very grumpy. I was so frustrated I ended up throwing a few sheep skin rugs in the garbage. The last thing I wanted to do was spray a toxic chemical around my children and pets so I began researching on other bug repellants. A wonderful Healer I work with Sanford Ponderson, suggested I use diatomaceous earth on certain areas in the house and on Fig. I already had some of the earth in my pantry since I take a spoonful at times when I feel I need a cleanse. Diatomaceous earth isa mineral that is comprised of silica which when eaten can flush your colon out of fungi, parasites, heavy metals and viruses. I used talcum powder last spring when I had an ant issue and it really did the trick so this time I was ready to try the earth on the fleas. It seems talcum and the earth are highly toxic to insects since they can dry them out. I experimented by covering Fig with the earth and though she seemed like she had a powder film, the fleas began to disappear. I use Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade both as an all-natural bug repellent and for the occasional cleanse!

To make fleas and ticks jump off our dogs, we use to use this homeopathic concoction of diluted lemongrass. It doesn’t kill them but makes them leave the host because they hate the smell. Lemongrass is great for shoo-ing mozzies away too! And it’s got a nice tangy fragrance 🙂
What an interesting product, I’d never heard of it. Thank you for sharing the info. Fig looks adorably cranky in the pic. : )
