Baby Whisperer = Dr. Harvey Karp

June 5, 2012 | 0 Comments

One of the first times I met Dr. Karp, he happened to come to my house with his lovely wife Nina. As soon as my youngest Charlotte saw him, she grabbed his hand and took him to her room. Charlotte is not inclined to connect with people she doesn’t know, but this is a testament to the man who is called a baby whisperer. He simply has a gift which makes him a wonderful expert on all matters concerning babies and toddlers. He is no longer treating children at his practice, but he is relentless in his pursuit of helping parents and children in need. His books are best sellers and highly respected. He is an expert at how to calm colicky babies, and came up with the 5 sooting techniques for fussy babies which I know from experience really does work. This month Harvey will be on the big screen discussing his wisdom on Parents Night Out and he has a highly anticipated book coming out the 21st called The Happiest Baby Guide to Sleeping.

Scholastic Parent & Child magazine recently named Dr. Harvey Karp as the only pediatrician on their “10 Most Influential People in Family Life 2012,” below moms and above Steve Jobs.
A 2012 medical study published in the journal Pediatrics found Dr. Karp’s baby-calming tactics worked better than the sugar-water supplements traditionally given to infants after experiencing pain from injections or circumcision.
