Weaving Plaits . . .

May 12, 2012 | 0 Comments

The word braiding is said to be as old as 950 and comes from Old English meaning to weave. I personally have always been a fan of the look. Maybe it stems from my childhood obsession with Laura Ingalls . . .first the books and then the TV show. Later in high school it was Frida Kahlo who inspired me with her bohemian braids and flowers. French braiding is possible on one’s own hair and not as daunting as it may seem.  For me on those days when my outfit doesn’t feel very stylish, a good braid will make me feel somewhat polished and literally pulled together! There are so many you tube tutorials now on the subject. Beauty Bender just posted on braids and all their glory and it seems to becoming a fashionable hair style once again. It’s no surprise that braids are a popular look on the red carpet too . . .
