I have been using Traditional Medicinals Teas since being a young holistically minded college student at UCLA. I remember drinking their teas if I had an irritated throat, or to keep my immune system strong during finals. I have started using tea drinking in my morning ritualĀ to set my intentions for my day, and to stimulate my body before eating anything. I feel a deep sense of renewal and revitalization by starting each morning like this. I am mindful about what kind of teas I drink since the way the plants are grown effects the quality and health benefits of the tea. I am so grateful for a company like Traditional Medicinals that has been around since 1974. It was started in Northern California by a third generation herbalist that wanted to revitalize the wise practices of herbalism in North America. The company is devoted to using high quality pharmacopoeial grade herbs grown with environmentally sustainable ethics. One can sense their passion in creating quality teas when drinking a cup. I personally am a high fan of the EveryDay Detox Dandelion. Dandelion is such a lovely herb that usually grows like a so-called weed right in our gardens. I always say hello to the dandelion with its bright yellow flower instead of pulling it out among the flowers growing. It gently supports healthy liver function and can help flush kidneys as well. The tea also has fennel and licorice in the formula. All my favorites!

For more all-natural health remedies see The Local Rose.

There are now some teas that combine Green Tea with either ginger or dandelion. For a subtle energy boost I like to have a cup of one of these in the afternoon around 4pm. Ginger is one of my favorites with it’s warm and spicy notes. I add a teaspoon of my bee hive honey to make it just a touch sweet.

I always have on hand in my pantry the Echinacea Plus, Nighty Night, and Throat Coat. These have been my go to staples when dealing with sniffles for years and years! I honestly can feel the echinacea supporting my system when it’s weak or fighting something.

On their site you can read up on the specific herbs used in the teas and tea formulas. I personally like to build a relationship with the plants I consume. It gives me a personal relationship with the healing qualities. When I took a plant foraging class years ago, we were taught to look for our plant allies. This idea of connecting with the plants around us in a deeper way has truly impacted the way I think. Traditional Medicinals is coming from this magical and restorative place!
