Lady of the Flowers ~ Yasmine ~ Part 1
Yasmine is one of those incredible juxtapositions of characters. On one hand she is a feminine flower gatherer, poetic florist, romantic lady from another era, and on the other hand she is an original Atwater girl who doesn’t cleanse her face, and takes road trip on her own through isolated forests armed with a knife, and vintage cape. Yasmine came over for a day of crown making and floral design. Believe it or not we didn’t plan on having matching Picnic at Hanging Rock outfits! What I love most about this Lebanese/French beauty, aside from the fact that she reads Willa Cather novels, is that she likes to forage from peoples own gardens so the bouquets are more personal and local. She is the kind of lady who will take her neighbor a beautiful bouquet just . . . because. Her penchant for France of bygone years comes from living between California and France since a child and it shows in her individual style. Interview below and stay tuned in for part 2 on crown making which is a perfect way to bring in the Spring Season. I have truly found a kindred spirit in Yasmine . . .

[infobox]1)Where do you get inspiration from?
I get inspiration from travel, gardens, paintings, books. I’m quite nostalgic, so I get a lot of inspiration from my childhood experiences.
2) You seem like you came from another period in time do you gravitate towards a different era?
I gravitate toward Victorian and early 60s fashion, mostly.
3) You are an Attwater girl. What are your favorite haunts in that village?
Proof and Individual Medley.
4) What is a favorite beauty secret?
I sleep in my makeup, and I don’t use moisturizer, so I probably shouldn’t be giving beauty tips. I do, however, soak cotton swaps in rose water and wipe my face with them, after exfoliating with a charcoal face puff. (I’m lucky if I do this once a month, though.)
5) Do you have a favorite flower?
I don’t have one favorite, but some of my favorites include poppies, hellebores, frittilaria, lily of the valley, and muscari.
6) I know you like to take road trips. Do you have a dream trip planned some time soon?
I love travel as much as I love flowers. I’m hoping to go to New Zealand this year. I often dream of lush, green, rolling hills, so I can’t wait to finally visit.
7) Are you a mermaid or forest fairy?
Forest fairy
8) Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
In a forest somewhere.

Song of the Lark by Willa Cather
